US President Donald Trump said the United States expects to achieve what he described as a “total victory” over Iran within the next two weeks, even as Iran and Israel signaled a temporary halt to recent hostilities.

Speaking during a campaign-style event for Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump said his administration had taken a tough approach and expressed confidence that the conflict was moving in Washington’s favor. He also predicted that oil prices would fall sharply once the situation stabilizes.

Iran and Israel Agree to Temporary Halt

The comments came after Iran announced it would stop attacks on Israel, while warning of a severe response if Israeli military operations continue in Lebanon. Regional tensions escalated after Israeli strikes on Beirut were followed by Iranian missile launches toward northern Israel and subsequent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

Netanyahu Warns Conflict Is Not Over

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later said the fighting had stopped “for now” but stressed that Israel would respond forcefully to any future attacks. While the latest pause has reduced immediate tensions, uncertainty remains over whether the fragile calm can hold in the coming days.
