The threat follows a temporary pause in the US military operation known as “Project Freedom,” which was aimed at securing access through the Strait of Hormuz. The pause was reportedly ordered after signs of progress toward a possible agreement with Iranian representatives. Officials described the halt as temporary to allow time for negotiations.

US Iran One-Page Peace Memo and Nuclear Talks

Diplomatic sources indicate that the US and Iran are close to a one-page memorandum designed to end the conflict and restart nuclear discussions. The draft reportedly includes a structured negotiation period and outlines steps toward de-escalation, including maritime and nuclear-related measures.

Iran Response and Maximum Pressure Stance

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian rejected US demands, saying Washington is pursuing a “maximum pressure” policy and attempting to impose unilateral conditions. He stated that Iran would not accept such terms under current circumstances.

At the same time, Israeli strikes continue in southern Lebanon, with evacuation orders issued ahead of further military action, keeping regional tensions elevated.
