US-Iran Deal Creates Tensions Between Trump and Netanyahu

A new US-Iran agreement aimed at ending months of conflict is creating fresh tensions between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The deal includes a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, while negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program are expected to continue over the next 60 days.

Israeli officials are concerned that the agreement does not directly address Iran’s missile program or its support for regional armed groups. They also fear that extended negotiations could limit Israel’s ability to take military action if security threats persist.

Israel Signals Independent Security Policy

Despite the agreement, Israeli leaders have stressed that the country is not bound by the deal’s terms. Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israeli forces will remain deployed in strategic areas and warned that any attack linked to Iran would be met with a strong response.
