The United States has reportedly rejected Iran’s updated proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, calling it inadequate and warning that stalled talks could increase the risk of renewed military tensions. The response has raised concerns about whether diplomatic efforts can still move forward.
Iran reportedly sent its revised proposal through mediator Pakistan after receiving a previous US-backed plan. However, senior American officials said Tehran’s response failed to deliver meaningful progress toward a final agreement. US President Donald Trump publicly criticized Iran’s position, calling the proposal “totally unacceptable” and accusing Tehran of delaying serious commitments.
Iran Demands War End and Oil Sanctions Relief
According to reports, Iran’s proposal focused first on ending military action across the region, including Lebanon, while also demanding security guarantees in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran reportedly pushed for the removal of sanctions on Iranian oil exports, the release of frozen overseas assets, and an end to restrictions affecting Iranian ports.
Nuclear Program Remains Key Dispute
The biggest disagreement continues to center on Iran’s nuclear activities. Reports suggest Iran offered to temporarily suspend uranium enrichment and reduce part of its enriched uranium stockpile but rejected calls to fully dismantle nuclear facilities.
The US, meanwhile, continues pressing for tougher nuclear limits before agreeing to broader concessions, leaving negotiations facing another difficult phase.
