Secret Service personnel immediately returned fire, striking the suspect, who was later taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Bystander Injured During White House Gunfire

Authorities confirmed that a bystander was also hit during the shooting. Investigators are still working to determine whether the person was struck by bullets fired by the suspect or during the exchange with officers. The condition of the injured bystander has not been fully clarified.

Suspect Had Prior Security Concerns

Law enforcement officials described the suspect as an emotionally disturbed person who had previously been issued a stay-away order. No Secret Service officers were injured during the attack.

President Donald Trump was inside the White House at the time and later praised law enforcement for their quick response, saying the suspect had a violent history and an apparent fixation on the presidential residence.
