Daily payments on the XRP Ledger have dropped more than 70% from their May 2026 highs, as a broader market downturn continues to weigh on investor sentiment and on-chain activity alike. XRP itself is trading near $1.08, more than 65% below its July 2025 peak of $3.6.
Payment Volume Hits A Nine-Month Low
Data shows account to account payments on the ledger fell to 325,888 on Saturday, July 18, the lowest reading since a brief crash to 28,760 last October tied to a one-off network event. Payment counts had stayed above 500,000 daily for months afterward before slipping to around 400,000 in late June, and now sit at a nine-month low. The 325,888 figure marks an 80.7% drop from the roughly 1.694 million payments recorded on May 28, and an 85% decline from the yearly peak of 2.188 million in February.

Wider Slowdown Across The Network
Active addresses on the ledger fell to 123,986 on Sunday, while total transactions dropped to 1.129 million, a 78% decline from April’s peak of 5.172 million. XRP has slid nearly 40% this year, though it has managed a 4.85% gain so far in July. Traders are watching the $1 level closely, as a break below could open the door to a slide toward the $0.7 to $0.8 range.
