Bitcoin ETFs Post Modest July Gains But Stay Deep in the Red for 2026

US spot Bitcoin ETFs closed July with $172.4 million in net inflows, breaking a two month run of outflows. The rebound came despite heavy selling in the final days of the month, including a $265.4 million single-day withdrawal on the last Friday of July, the largest daily outflow since mid-month.

Year-to-Date Losses Remain Steep

Even with July’s positive turn, Bitcoin ETFs remain roughly $5.3 billion negative for 2026. Only March, April, and July have posted inflows this year, adding up to about $3.46 billion, while January, February, May, and June saw combined outflows near $8.75 billion. June alone accounted for $4.5 billion in withdrawals, the worst single month since the funds launched.

Weekly Flows Turn Negative Again

After three straight weeks of inflows, Bitcoin ETFs slipped into outflow territory for the week ending July 31, shedding about $61.5 million. Since launch, the funds have drawn $51.32 billion in cumulative inflows, with total net assets sitting at $76.29 billion.

Ether and XRP ETFs Show Steadier Demand

Ether ETFs posted four consecutive weeks of inflows, ending July with $365.2 million added, their second positive month this year. They remain about $1.1 billion negative year to date. XRP ETFs brought in $27.3 million in July, their fifth positive month of 2026, pushing year-to-date inflows to roughly $343 million.
