Bitcoin Holds Close to $65,000 As Traders Eye $101 Billion SpaceX Unlock

Ether gained over 1.3% to $1,920 but remained down 0.7% over seven days. XRP was the weakest performer, dropping almost 3% to $1.04. While Solana and Dogecoin each fell nearly 1%. Hyperliquid’s HYPE stayed steady near $56, posting the best weekly performance among majors at over 4%.
SpaceX Lockup Expiry Draws Attention
Traders are also watching Elon Musk’s SpaceX, where roughly $101 billion in stock becomes tradable Thursday as its first lockup expires. The company holds 18,712 BTC, worth about $1.1 billion as of June.
Equities Wobble As Gold And Oil Move
Korea’s Kospi dropped 4.4% on chipmaker weakness, led by SK Hynix and Samsung, while the MSCI All Country World Index snapped a five-day winning streak. Gold rose 0.4% to its highest since June, and Brent crude stayed under $80 after Iran said it reached a shipping agreement with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz. SoftBank, which has invested $34.6 billion in OpenAI since September 2024, reports earnings later Thursday.
