Israeli crypto broker Bits of Gold has confirmed that hackers stole personal data belonging to roughly 200,000 customers after breaching a third-party data analytics provider. The Tel Aviv-based firm disclosed the incident on Sunday, stating that the attacker gained unauthorized access to the outside network before the connection was cut off.

What Information Was Exposed

Stolen data included customer names, national ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, bank account details, and public wallet addresses. The company was quick to clarify that no funds, private keys, passwords, CVV codes, or scanned identification documents were part of the leak.

Part of a Wider Pattern

Bits of Gold said early findings point to a broader, coordinated attack that struck multiple companies at once, not just its own systems. This marks the third such breach reported in the crypto sector within a single week. Roughly 40,000 SafePal users had their data exposed through a separate third-party vendor issue, while nearly 14,000 Trezor customers were affected after ShipMonk, a fulfillment partner, was compromised on August 13.

Company Response and Background

Bits of Gold said it has brought in outside cybersecurity specialists to investigate the breach further and reassured customers that their digital assets remain untouched. Founded in 2013, the company was the first in Israel to receive a permanent Financial Services Provider license and currently serves more than 250,000 customers. It holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification and is led by CEO Youval Rouach. The firm reminded users it will never request passwords, verification codes, private keys, or fund transfers.
