Announced Friday, the deal keeps CoinGlass running under its own brand with its existing team in place. Its website, app, free tools, API and pricing stay the same.
What CoinGlass Brings to CoinMarketCap
CoinGlass tracks open interest, funding rates, liquidations and options across 28 exchanges and more than 2,500 instruments. CoinMarketCap said the deal gives its users access to derivatives positioning data alongside price data, including where liquidations cluster and how funding rates move.
CoinMarketCap’s Ownership History
Crypto exchange Binance acquired CoinMarketCap in April 2020. At the time, Binance said the platform would keep operating independently, with no influence from the exchange over its rankings.
