Old Ether wallets are moving again. Onchain data shows 37,806 ETH from long dormant addresses became active as ETH trades just above $1,500.
Four wallets that received 37,602 ETH nearly eight years ago at around $830 each woke up after sitting through both the 2021 and 2025 bull runs. They sold 33,623 ETH for about $52.5 million near $1,560, locking in roughly $27.4 million in profit.

Whales Split Between Buying And Selling
Not everyone’s selling. One whale swapped 464 BTC worth $27.6 million for 17,750 ETH. Investor Chun Wang grabbed another 9,937 ETH and 147 wrapped BTC, pulling almost 87,000 ETH off Binance over the past month at an average price of $1,749.
BlackRock also moved 41,996 ETH and 4,577 BTC to Coinbase Prime, though that’s typically custody related, not a sale.
Every major ETH whale cohort, from 1,000 to over 100,000 coins, is now sitting on unrealized losses for the first time since 2019.

$1,500 Becomes The Line In The Sand
ETH dipped to $1,510 Thursday but avoided a new yearly low even as Bitcoin hit fresh 2026 lows. Traders see $1,500 as critical long-term support, a level defended since 2022. Some, like trader Cyclops, point to $1,070–$1,370 as the next accumulation zone if support breaks.
