Ethereum Leads $65 Billion Real-World Asset Market as Blockchains Battle for Institutional Adoption

The market for tokenized RWAs has crossed $65 billion, highlighting growing institutional interest in bringing traditional financial products onto blockchain networks. As adoption accelerates, major blockchains are competing to attract asset managers and secure long term market share.

Ethereum Maintains Lead in Tokenized Real-World Assets

Ethereum continues to dominate the RWA market, controlling around 33% of the total market capitalization. Its position is supported by deep liquidity, established smart contract infrastructure and strong familiarity among institutional investors and traditional finance firms.

The overall RWA market has grown nearly 44% since the beginning of the year, rising from $45 billion to over $65 billion as tokenized financial assets gain momentum.

Provenance, XRP Ledger and Solana Compete for Institutional Flows

While Ethereum leads, competition is increasing. Provenance Blockchain holds roughly 27% market share, helped by its focus on financial services and lending infrastructure.

Meanwhile, BNB Chain, XRP Ledger and Solana each account for around 6% of the market and are actively building institutional-grade tools to attract issuers.

Why Blockchain Competition for RWA Tokenization Matters

Industry analysts believe the race is still open because no single blockchain has fully secured institutional dominance. Factors such as compliance tools, transaction costs, settlement speed and infrastructure reliability are becoming key decision points for asset managers.

Since moving tokenized assets between chains can be costly and complex, early institutional partnerships may create long-term advantages as adoption expands.
