Galaxy Digital Secures 15-Year Naming Rights Deal for Texas Tech Football Stadium

Crypto and AI infrastructure company Galaxy Digital has entered a 15-year partnership with Texas Tech University that will rename the school’s football stadium to Galaxy Stadium starting with the 2026 season. The agreement also designates Galaxy as the university’s official data center and digital assets partner, expanding the company’s presence in West Texas.

Deal Reportedly Worth More Than $70 Million

While financial details weren’t disclosed in the official announcement, reports indicate the agreement is valued at more than $70 million over its full term, amounting to roughly $4.7 million annually. Beyond stadium naming rights, Galaxy will work with Texas Tech athletes on endorsement opportunities and marketing initiatives, with branding appearing across the university’s football and basketball programs both at games and on digital platforms.

Company Looks to Expand Local Talent Pipeline

Galaxy also plans to strengthen recruitment ties between Texas Tech graduates and its nearby Helios data center campus, a massive infrastructure project the company has invested billions of dollars developing. Company leadership described the partnership as a natural fit given the university’s proximity to its growing data center operations.

Part of a Broader Trend in Crypto Sports Sponsorships

The agreement follows a recent wave of similar deals between crypto and AI infrastructure firms and college or professional sports programs, including a jersey sponsorship between a major payments focused blockchain company and a university team, as well as a record setting sponsorship agreement between an AI cloud provider and a professional basketball franchise.
