Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said the operation targeted the Al-Azraq base in Jordan, the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait. The attacks came after the US military carried out strikes against Iranian air defense systems, surveillance radar sites and ground control facilities near the strategic waterway.

President Donald Trump said the military action was a response to the downing of a US Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated that both crew members survived and described the American response as “very strong” and “very powerful.”

Jordan and Bahrain Report Successful Interceptions

Jordan’s armed forces said they intercepted and destroyed five missiles launched toward the Al-Azraq area, with no casualties or significant damage reported. Bahrain also activated warning sirens, while officials said air defense systems successfully repelled incoming threats.

Oil Markets and Regional Security in Focus

A US official said nearly 20 Iranian targets were struck during the operation and that most Iranian missiles and drones were intercepted. No immediate reports of injuries to US personnel were disclosed.

The latest exchange has raised concerns about the future of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran. While both sides have discussed a possible agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and regional security issues, the recent military escalation has increased uncertainty across the Middle East and pushed oil prices higher as investors assess potential risks to global energy supplies.
