Netanyahu Admits Limited Influence as Trump Pushes Iran Deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has privately admitted that Israel currently has little power to influence U.S. President Donald Trump’s decisions regarding Iran, as Washington continues negotiations over a possible agreement to reduce tensions in the nearly three-month-long conflict.

According to Israeli officials familiar with the discussions, Netanyahu is increasingly concerned about the emerging framework between the United States and Iran. The proposed agreement reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting the U.S. naval blockade, followed by wider talks on Iran’s nuclear activities.

Netanyahu Concerned Over Iran Nuclear Issues

Despite repeated phone conversations with Trump in recent days, Netanyahu reportedly believes Israel has limited room to shape U.S. policy at this stage. Israeli officials said the prime minister remains worried that the current negotiations may not fully address concerns about Iran’s nuclear program and enriched uranium stockpile.

Netanyahu has publicly insisted that any final agreement must include dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities and removing enriched material from Iranian territory. He also emphasized Israel’s right to continue military operations against threats, including Hezbollah in Lebanon.

US-Iran Deal Faces Major Challenges

Although diplomatic talks continue, both Washington and Tehran have lowered expectations for a quick breakthrough. Key disagreements remain over sanctions relief, nuclear restrictions, and regional security concerns, keeping the future of any deal uncertain.
