Russia Hits Ukrainian Ports and Retailers in Major Overnight Strike

Russia launched a large overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, hitting ports, factories, and retail distribution centers. The barrage included ballistic missiles and 258 drones, with Ukraine’s military shooting down seven ballistic missiles thanks to newly delivered US Patriot interceptors.

Civilian Areas and Businesses Damaged

Strikes destroyed a toy company facility, damaged a major retailer’s warehouse, and hit a chocolate manufacturer’s storage site near Kyiv. In Kharkiv, one person died and two were injured when a shopping center was struck at midday. Rail service was disrupted across several regions.

Wider Tensions Grow

Russia said drones also hit its own territory, while Ukraine received fresh Western pledges for missile production support. Several Russian drones briefly entered Moldova’s airspace, drawing sharp condemnation.
