Russian Drone Strikes Hit Kyiv Fuel Stations, Killing Two as War Escalates Beyond Front Lines

Russia launched jet powered drone strikes on two fuel stations in Kyiv early Friday, killing two people and injuring at least twelve others, including a child. The strikes came days after a brief lull during a visit by U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the escalating drone campaign was turning increasingly terroristic, noting a residential building and a facility linked to mobile carrier Kyivstar were also hit.

Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil and Logistics Sites

Ukraine responded with drone and missile strikes inside Russia, killing three people across the Tula and Kursk regions. Kyiv’s forces also targeted an oil refinery and industrial sites in Saratov and Volgograd, part of a broader campaign against Russian fuel and logistics networks, including warehouses tied to major online retailers.

With ground combat largely stalled after more than four years of war, both sides have increasingly focused strikes on refineries, fuel depots and supply infrastructure.
