Incident Took Place During Latin Festival
The shooting happened in Midtown Toronto during Salsa on St. Clair, an annual Latin cultural festival, according to local reports. Police urged residents to avoid the area and follow official guidance as the investigation and emergency response continued.
Officials Respond
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he was horrified by the shooting and pledged full support to police working to identify those responsible. He offered condolences to the families of victims and to everyone affected by the incident. A Toronto Police spokesperson said no further details would be released beyond what was shared through the department’s official channels.
