Sales Unfold Amid Ethics Debate Over Crypto Ventures

The bitcoin sales come as lawmakers continue debating the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which has drawn attention over ethics rules and potential conflicts of interest tied to political figures involved in crypto.

Critics have pointed to other Trump-linked crypto projects, including the Official Trump and Melania memecoins along with World Liberty Financial’s token and stablecoin, as part of broader concerns about the overlap between political influence and private digital asset interests. The legislation remains under discussion and does not currently require companies to divest existing crypto holdings.
