According to Trump, the proposed memorandum of understanding would immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz following its signing. The vital shipping route handles roughly 20% of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies and has remained at the center of market concerns during the conflict.

Pakistan, which has been involved in mediation efforts, also suggested that an agreement could be reached within the next 24 hours. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said technical discussions would follow once the document is signed.

Iran Remains Cautious on Signing Timeline

Despite growing optimism, Iran has not officially confirmed a Sunday signing. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the memorandum is unlikely to be signed immediately and could instead be finalized in the coming days.

Crypto Market Could Benefit From Reduced Geopolitical Risk

Market analysts believe a successful agreement could improve investor sentiment across risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe said reopening the Strait of Hormuz would likely boost market liquidity and encourage fresh investment flows into digital assets.

The comments come after spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $315.8 million in net outflows during the latest week. At the time of the move, Bitcoin was up more than 1% over the previous 24 hours and around 1% for the week.
