Strikes Target Multiple Provinces

Explosions were reported across several locations in southern Iran, including Qeshm, Kish, Bandar Abbas, Abadan and Bushehr, along with strikes in Khuzestan province, home to much of Iran’s oil industry. CENTCOM said the strikes hit dozens of Revolutionary Guard targets, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, and coastal defense sites, aiming to reduce threats to American forces and regional shipping.

Civilian Casualties Reported in Qeshm

Iranian officials said a residential building on Qeshm Island was struck, trapping several people under rubble, including members of a family of five. Two children were rescued and hospitalized, while rescue efforts continued for others still trapped.

Analysts Question Strategy’s Effectiveness

Military analysts noted the latest strikes largely repeated previous target patterns rather than expanding significantly, suggesting the US may be aiming to keep the conflict proportionate while leaving room for diplomacy. Some experts questioned whether continued strikes can meaningfully disrupt Iran’s ability to maintain its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, given Iran’s decentralized defense strategy.

Oil Prices and Markets React

Oil prices eased slightly after a sharp spike the previous session, while the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady, citing inflation risks tied to the ongoing conflict and its impact on oil markets.
