Several candidates backed by crypto aligned political action committees walked away with primary wins on Tuesday, putting them in strong positions heading into the November general election.

Fairshake PAC and its affiliates largely funded by Coinbase and Ripple Labs spent a combined $8 million on media across three states. In New York, Democrat Ritchie Torres won the 15th congressional district primary with 71.9% of the vote. In Utah, Republican Blake Moore took the 2nd district with 57.5%. In Maryland, Adrian Boafo won the Democratic primary for the 5th district with 32%, after Fairshake affiliate Protect Progress dropped $5.5 million to support him pushing him from fifth place to first.

Not Every Crypto-Backed Candidate Won

It was not a clean sweep. In New York’s 12th District, Democrat Alex Bores lost to Micah Lasher, who had openly criticized the $3.5 million that Ripple Labs co-founder Chris Larsen spent backing Bores during the campaign.

What Comes Next for Fairshake

With $150 million still in cash reserves as of June, Fairshake is widely expected to turn its attention to primaries in Colorado and Arizona next. Colorado votes on June 30 and Arizona on July 21. No significant spending has been disclosed in either state yet, but in 2024 the PAC spent over $10 million backing Ruben Gallego’s successful Senate run in Arizona.

Other crypto-aligned PACs including Fellowship, backed by Cantor Fitzgerald and Anchorage Digital, and the Blockchain Leadership Fund backed by Anchorage and Chainlink Labs, have also been active in 2026 races.
