One Killed As Homes And Warehouses Damaged

At least one person died outside Kyiv, according to regional Governor Tymur Tkachenko, who reported damage to 14 warehouse buildings, 16 homes, and three apartment blocks. Air-raid sirens sounded repeatedly across the capital Friday morning, continuing a pattern from the previous day’s extended missile and drone assault.

Nova Poshta And Major Retailers Hit Again

Strikes destroyed sorting centers belonging to Ukraine’s largest private courier company near Kyiv and in Sumy. In Zaporizhzhia, a drone struck a home-improvement retail store, injuring at least four people. A shopping center in Kharkiv was also targeted for the second time in two days, while a warehouse belonging to a major book retailer was destroyed in the Kyiv region.

Officials Say Goal Is To Overwhelm Air Defenses

Ukraine’s state emergency service recorded 38 attacks on the Kyiv region within 24 hours. A Ukrainian security official said Russia is deploying small groups of jet-powered drones in repeated waves designed to exhaust air defense systems and wear down public morale.

Rail Delays Easing, But Disruption Continues

Ukraine’s railway operator said delays caused by the strikes are gradually improving, though effects are expected to linger. Kyiv spent nearly 15 hours under air-raid alert the previous day, according to the country’s foreign ministry.

Both Russia and Ukraine have increasingly targeted consumer logistics and retail infrastructure in recent weeks as part of efforts to weaken each other’s economic resilience.
