City Officials Report Damage and Casualties
Within Kyiv itself, one person died and 24 were injured, with buildings damaged across several districts. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said rescuers pulled two people from a destroyed warehouse near the city center, warning others may still be trapped. An ambulance driver was among the injured, with four in critical condition.
Russia Cites Military Targets
Russia’s defense ministry said it struck logistics hubs it claimed were used for military purposes. Klitschko said the strikes sparked fires at warehouses, while earlier reports of a burning apartment building proved false. An ammonia leak was also reported. Separately, Ukraine struck a Wildberries logistics hub in Russia’s Tula region.
Both sides deny targeting civilians in the war that began in February 2022.
